Helping immigrants building up this country is my passion.”
Maryna Khomenko
Maryna is an associate attorney for the litigation department of Hogan & Vandenberg, and she brings a diverse background to her role. During law school, she completed extensive pro bono work with the City of New Bedford Department of Community Services, assisting an immigration attorney on TPS, SIV, asylum, and humanitarian parole cases for Afghan and Ukrainian refugees. Her dedication earned her the “Leader of Justice Award” due to her lengthy commitment to pro bono service. She later served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, handling a wide range of cases.
Maryna’s passion for immigration law is deeply personal. As an immigrant, she experienced firsthand the long, emotional challenge of waiting for family reunification. These experiences shaped her commitment to helping others navigate a system she knows can be slow, complex, and deeply impactful on families. Now focusing primarily on asylum cases, she is dedicated to helping clients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their legal journey.
Maryna is admitted to the Indiana Bar and holds degrees from Temple University, St. Joseph’s University, and the University of Massachusetts School of Law. She is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
