Checking the status of your visa at the Embassy

This came out yesterday: you can check the status of your non-immigrant or immigrant visa application which is pending at the U.S. Embassy abroad.  Go here.  You can find out if it’s approved, denied, or under “Adminstrative Processing.”  If it’s the latter, you can expect a wait without foreseeable end; usually, Administrative Processing is completed
