The Trump Administration has released a statement announcing a pause on the issuance of immigrant visas for foreign nationals from 75 countries beginning January 21, 2026. We understand that announcements like this can cause concern to immigrants, and our team is actively reviewing the details to determine how this policy may affect our clients and the immigrant community.
Based on the information available so far, this policy does not apply to all immigrants from the listed countries. It affects only individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Applicants who have filed for an immigrant visa and have a scheduled consular appointment within the next three months
- Applicants seeking visas that may be subject to the Public Charge rule
To the clients who have an active case with us:
If your case does not involve consular processing, or if you are applying for a non‑immigrant visa, your process may continue as planned, and no additional steps are required at this time.
If you believe you fall into one of the affected categories and we have not yet reached out to you, please contact your assigned paralegal so we can schedule a time to discuss the next steps in your case.
To immigrants who have not taken action yet:
Time is of the essence. If you have not talked to an attorney yet to explore your options and if you can find immigration relief, we encourage you to do so. The current administration is counting on fear to keep immigrants from taking action.
We want to reassure you that we are closely monitoring all updates from the current administration and are prepared to adjust to any policy changes. We remain committed to supportingour clients and their loved ones on their immigration journey.
